Bernice Ann Hodgin, born on April 6, 1955, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2024, at the age of 69.
Bernice lived a vibrant and adventurous life, deeply passionate about motorcycles and the freedom they represented. She spent countless hours riding through scenic routes, finding joy in the open road and the roar of the engine. Her zest for life extended beyond her love for motorcycles. Bernice cherished moments spent at her favorite bar, the Highway Hut, enjoying a few drinks and the company of friends. Her laughter and stories added warmth and character to every gathering.
Above all, Bernice was a devoted mother to her four children: Jeremy Ferguson, Tiffany Dawes, Shanda Richardson, and Travis Hodgin. She leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and cherished memories. Bernice will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
In addition to her children, survivors include her grandchildren, Lindsey Brodway, Lauren Ferguson, Lexie Ferguson, Emma Bailey, Ella Bailey, Hunter Colbert, Leyah Colbert, and Henry Hodgin; great grandchild, Josephine Ferguson; and sister, Karen Nelson
Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, David Hodgin; parents, Joann and Larry Ottinger; and brothers, Richard and Wayne Ottinger.
Family and friends will gather Thursday, July 18, for visitation from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon.
