Betty Claire (Weber) Hine, born March 2, 1925, to Hazel and Cecil Weber of rural Lebanon, was ushered peacefully into Heaven on December 5, 2019. She was 94. Betty was a graduate of Perry Central High School in 1943, and was married to John M Hine on November 4, 1945. They recently celebrated their 74th anniversary together.
The Lord blessed Betty and John with 4 children, 8 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Betty was a long-time member of the Mt. Tabor Baptist Church of Fayette, where she taught Sunday school, VBS, served on the missions committee, and directed the church choir for 35 years. She also served the community in the formation of a Girl Scout Troop in Perry Township, as well as in the Boone County 4-H Club.

Her family and friends honor Betty for her love and loyalty to her husband, her family, and her Lord. In the words of Solomon, “they rise up and call her blessed.” She has been an amazing example of a Christian to all who knew her.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Hazel and Cecil Weber, brothers Earl, Gene, and Lewis Weber, sister Evelyn Wing, and daughter, Beverly Stump. She is survived by her husband, John Hine, of rural Lebanon, her children, Sheryl (& husband Rich) Kane of Greenville, SC, Janis (& husband Nick) Bayless of Marietta, GA, and David (& wife Jackie) Hine of Parker, CO., along with 8 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the Mt. Tabor Baptist Church in Fayette on Friday, December 13, at 11:00 am, with visitation beginning at 9:00 am. Interment will follow services at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.
