Bonnie Claire Skeen, 79, of Lebanon, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon. She was born on September 7, 1942 in Lebanon, Indiana, a daughter of the late Darrell David Sparks and Martha Phyllis (Frazier) Sparks-Stoner.

She was married to Paul Martin, he preceded her in death. She later married Larry Richard Skeen; they divorced, and he survives.

Bonnie was a lifelong resident of Lebanon and a 1960 graduate of Lebanon High School. In 1978 she received her LPN degree and in 1990 became a registered nurse. She was a caring and dedicated nurse for 58 years and was recently employed with Excel Home Healthcare in Lebanon. In addition to nursing, Bonnie was a licensed cosmetologist for 44 years.

She enjoyed shopping, loved family gatherings and was a good friend to those who knew her.

Survivors include her son: Clint E. Martin of Jamestown; grandson, Travis (Sarah) Martin of Anderson; granddaughter, Jessica (Shawn) Springman of Greenfield; great grandchildren, Chloe Martin, Kai Martin, Keely Martin, Chyanne Springman, Sydney Springman; brothers, Darrell “Dean” Sparks of Heber Springs, Arkansas, Phillip (Alecia) Sparks of Brownsburg, Chris (Karen) Stoner of Othello, Washington; sister-in-law, Kathy Sparks of Lebanon; several nieces, nephews; along with many great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by a son, Rodney Ray Skeen; a sister, Brenda A. Robinson; a brother, Claude “Dick” Sparks; and a sister-in-law, Mary Lou Sparks; nephew Roger Lee Sparks.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 11, 2022 at Myers Mortuary 1502 North Lebanon Street, Lebanon, Indiana.

Visitation will be on Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home in Lebanon. Interment will follow services at Lincoln Memory Gardens in Whitestown, Indiana.

Memorials may be directed in Bonnie’s memory to the charity of the donor’s choice.
