The Boone County Commissioners and Rundell Ernstberger Associates (REA) conducted multiple stakeholder meetings last week. Their goal was to understand possible opportunities and concerns the community may have about the proposed development area being planned by the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) northwest of Lebanon.

Land use planner REA is working with Boone County to develop a planned unit development district (PUD) that will manage and guide growth in the area. The focus group meetings with REA and community stakeholders are part of the Commissioners’ cooperation with the IEDC on the LEAP project (Limitless Exploration/Advanced Pace).

The Commissioners and REA met with county departments, many of the local cities and towns and their staff, emergency services, school districts, the agricultural community, property owners, the IEDC, and other stakeholders directly impacted by potential future development.
