Woodruff Farm owners Ron and Kay Woodruff, along with daughter Sherry, woke up Thursday morning to find one of the barns on their family farm ablaze. To make matters worse, the barn was housing nine female goats and their 18 kids – the majority of the family’s livestock. At about 6:30 a.m. Thursday, Advance Volunteer Fire Department (AVFD) dispatch received a call from a concerned passerby that flames were visible from the roadway in front of the farm on W. County Road 200 North. The cause of the fire, though still under investigation, is thought to have stemmed from a knocked-over heat lamp. More details in the Lebanon Reporter.
