On Wednesday, April 5, at approximately 6:51 am, Boone County Sheriff’s Deputies and Medics responded to the Boone County Jail for a cardiac arrest with no pulse. Prior to arrival, Boone County Corrections Officers found Elton Taylor, 65 years old, of Fort Wayne, Indiana unresponsive during breakfast meal pass. The Corrections Officers notified Boone County Central Communications who alerted first responders. Upon arrival, proper medical attention was provided, and Mr. Taylor was pronounced dead on the scene.This incident is still under investigation by the Boone County Sheriff’s Office and Boone County Coroner’s Office.
