Boone County farmer, Byron Hackett, passed away in Lebanon, IN, on Apr. 17, 2020.

He was born in Lebanon on May 11, 1934, to the late Roland and Dorothy Peters Hackett. He is survived by his wife, Charlene (Padgett) Hackett; children, Jane (Charlie) Ennis, Sally Bush, Joe (Sharon) Hackett, and Scott (Tricia) Hackett; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Eleanor Powers; and brother-in-law, Bill (Anita) Padgett. Byron was preceded in death by his brother, Bob (Arlene) Hackett, sister-in-law, Chiquita Hamstra, and great-granddaughter, Megan Kerkhof.

Byron grew up as a part of the Fairview Congregational Christian Church. He was a hardworking man who loved the land, farming, and his family. Papa was loved and will be greatly missed by his family. A special thank you to Ron and Cynthia Merrill for their friendship over the years.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Donations in Byron’s memory may be made to Love, INC, Lebanon, or the Thorntown Kiwanis.
