FRANKFORT, Ind. – The Community Schools of Frankfort announced the CSF School Board approved the proposed budget for 2022 on Tuesday evening, October 26. The proposed budget of approximately $34.9 million includes funds for bus replacement, capital projects, education and operations as well as debt service and rainy day funds. The budget now moves to the Department of Local Government Finance for final approval and appropriation of funds. It is expected to be returned to the CSF Board sometime in January 2022.

In other business, the board approved the appointment of Jeff Bracken to the position of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Lab Coordinator at Green Meadows Intermediate School. This new lab, which will be utilized by students at all elementary schools, is the product of a $20,000 grant from Purdue University to encourage students’ interest and growth in STEM learning. The lab includes math, science and engineering curriculum, robotics equipment, 3D printers and other technology used to stimulate learning in students.
