Boone County Council meets to discuss road maintenance.

The Boone County Council has unanimously agreed to borrow $5.35 million to repair the worst small structures in the county which are failing. These five small structures, or culverts, are the worst of the worst and were being considered for complete closure, causing detours for several area residents. There isn’t enough tax revenue to cover the cost of repairs, so the council has agreed to seriously consider a debt service property tax levy that would allow them to bond out for the repairs, which is paid back by the levy.
