The Boone County health department and the county Unified Command coalition is working to develop an immunization distribution plan, if and when a vaccine for COVID -19 is developed. The plan would inoculate the designated first wave, which includes first responders, health care personnel, essential workers, and employees and residents of long-term care facilities. According to information from the Centers for Disease Control, a vaccination would require two shots. The second shot would be a booster and administered between 21 and 28 days after the initial injection. More details in the Lebanon Reporter.
