CSX Railroad officials disregarded a county ordinance and ripped out pavement at two railroad crossings Thursday — without approval, without warning schools or emergency services providers, and after being ordered to wait.
The closed crossings caused Western Boone Schools to reroute buses and children to be late for school and had public safety officials scrambling to chart alternate routes around County Road 800 North and C.R. 750 N. after the fact. More details in the Lebanon Reporter.
