Cyril M. Schirmer, 88, passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2022 at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on June 2, 1934; and was one of ten children to the late Joseph F. and Marcella R. (Wolf) Schirmer.

He was a 1952 graduate of Central Vocational High School in Cincinnati and on June 26, 1954, he was married to Jo Ann (Homan) Schirmer; she recently passed away on July 7, 2022.

Cyril was a longtime member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Lebanon. He was manager at Keebler Cookies and later worked in the automobile industry, working for Tom Roush Mazda in Westfield and Tom Wood Pontiac in Indianapolis. He loved watching sports, westerns, and game shows. He also loved to play cards, especially Euchre, and crossword puzzles. He was devoted to his family and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his sons, Lawrence J. (Beverly) Schirmer of Brazil, Indiana, James W. Schirmer of Sandersville, Georgia; daughters, Marianne (David) Landis of Ellijay, Georgia, Janette M. Parker of Bartlett, Tennessee; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and two brothers.

In addition to his parents and wife, Cyril was preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth S. Miller; and three brothers and four sisters.

Visitation is from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street in Lebanon, Indiana.

Funeral Mass is planned for 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 2 at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 319 East South Street in Lebanon, Indiana. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Lebanon.
