Delores Jean “Dee” Urban, 83, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at her home in Indianapolis. She was born in Lebanon, Indiana on August 29, 1940, a daughter of the late Paul Malcolm and Mary Camillia (McIntyre) Urban.

Dee was a 1958 graduate of Lebanon High School and 1962 graduate of Ball State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. Following school, she enlisted in the United States Women’s Army Corps. and served her country honorably until November 1964. She returned and began work at the Methodist Publishing House in Nashville, Tennessee. Dee relocated to Indiana and was employed with the State of Indiana and later retired from Citizens Gas and Coke Utility as the Vice President of Information Services, after 28 years of dedicated employment.

A faithful member of Epworth United Methodist Church in Indianapolis, Dee was active in the church and served as a Stephen Minister for a period of time. She was a member of Pilot International, a community service organization and volunteered her time at Community North Hospital.

Dee enjoyed many things throughout her life such as golfing, reading, and working with computers. However, her greatest joy was her family, she adored her many nieces and nephews.

Survivors include nieces and nephews, David A. Urban, Dee Ann McMuund, Mary Cadle, Barb Cox, Paul (Debbie) Urban, Philip (Amy) Urban, Margaret (Bob) Newell, Norma (Mike) Strode, Earl “Butch” Urban, Rita (Andy) Smith, Rick (Kathy) Urban, James Bailey, Joyce (James) Derrickson, Philip Bailey, Dennis Bailey, and Terri (Dan) Eck, as well as numerous great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to her parents, Dee was preceded in death by her sister, Rita June Bailey, and brothers, Donald Paul Urban and David Lee Urban, and nephews, Ronnie Urban and Kenny Urban.

Funeral Services with Military Rites are planned for 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Private Family Interment will take place at Pleasant View Cemetery west of Lebanon.
