Delores Joan Pyke, 81, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2020 at Homewood Health Campus in Lebanon, Indiana. She was born on June 30, 1938 in Indianapolis, Indiana, to the late Roscoe Newman and Cuba (Graham) Newman Peterson.

She graduated from Lebanon High School. Following high school, she took classes at Ivy Tech. Delores was first married to Ben Harmon and later was married to Robert Pyke, he preceded her in death.

Delores was a certified nurse assistant and worked at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Michigan City. She also waitressed at Stuckey’s Drive-In (which is now Lebanon Milky Way), and Aero Drapery. She took great pride where she worked and cared deeply for all her clients.

She was very crafty and could always make something out of nothing. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family. The family would like to especially thank Excel Home Healthcare and Marsha from Visiting Angels for taking such great care of Delores.

In addition to her parents, Delores was preceded in death by one son, Timothy E. Harmon; brothers, Forrest E. Newman, Gary L. Newman and one sister, Glenda Owens.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Myers Mortuary and Boone County Crematory have been entrusted with her care.
