During the month of October the Boone County Extension Homemakers celebrate Indiana Extension Homemakers Week. During this time members will be completing service projects in the community. On Oct. 25, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. volunteers will be meeting at the Boone County Fairgrounds annex to sew, blankets, bibs, and gowns for Riley Children’s Hospital. The public is welcome to join in the sewing day. For those who don’t sew, help is needed with cutting, pressing and tying fleece blankets. On Oct. 26, members will be serving a meal at the Lebanon Community of Shalom. The Boone County Extension Homemakers is made up of nine active clubs, four of which are specialty clubs — Boone County Crafters, Boone County Quilters, Home Cooking Club and Home & Garden. There are also several associate clubs. The clubs meet during the month at various times and dates.
