The contest for who will be the Republican nominee for Mayor of Lebanon will be one of the few contested races in the May 7 Primary. There are also challenges for the Republican nomination for Lebanon City Council Dist. 2, 3, 4 and at large.
On the Republican ticket, incumbent Lebanon Mayor Matt Gentry filed at the 11th hour to run for a second term as mayor. He is challenged by Deborah “Debbie” S. Ottinger, the Boone County Republican Party chairwoman, present county treasurer, and a former mayoral candidate who lost by less than 200 votes eight years ago, and Rob Hawkins, a former Indiana State Police Officer. Ed Bradley, who filed early on for the mayoral race, has withdrawn his candidacy. More details in the Lebanon Reporter.
