Long-time Witham Family YMCA volunteer George Morton has received the James L. Kittle Lifetime Achievement Award from YMCA of Greater Indianapolis Board of Directors.
The Kittle award is the highest tribute that the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis’ board can bestow upon a volunteer leader. The award is named in memory of its first recipient, James L. Kittle, Sr., to honor his enthusiastic and exemplary leadership as a volunteer for the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis. Morton’s YMCA volunteership dates back to the mid-1960s when the Lebanon YMCA was established as part of the West Side of Indy Affiliation. Morton volunteered as a member of the board of directors and enjoyed taking tennis lessons at the Y with his wife, Nancy.
