Glenda Lynn Vanderkolk, 80, of Lafayette, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was born in Boone County, Indiana on May 1, 1940 to the late Fay Harold and Laurel Maggie (Smith) Ford.
Glenda was married to Frank Keith Wilson and divorced in 1993. She later married Thomas Vanderkolk in Dayton, Indiana in 1994. He preceded her in death in 2004.
For many years, Glenda had an in-home daycare and loved taking care of all the children. She also worked at Titus Bakery in Lebanon for twelve years. An active and faithful member of GAP Community Church in Thorntown, she enjoyed attending weekly Bible study groups. She was always pleased to visit with family and friends. Glenda was a kind and thoughtful lady who was always eager to help others whenever in need.
Glenda leaves behind two children, David (Rita) Wilson of Thorntown, Indiana and Tamara (Patrick) Weismiller of West Lafayette, Indiana; a granddaughter, Natalie Weismiller of West Lafayette, Indiana; three sisters, Pat (Marvin) Wilson, Willa Wallace, and Reba (Les) Evans; a brother, Rev. Royce (Grace) Ford; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her second husband, Glenda was preceded in death by siblings, Bill Ford, Jean Moore, Dessie Fisher, Francis Ford, Bud Ford and John Ford, Sr.
Visitation is planned from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 22, 2020 at the GAP Community Church, 202 S. West Street, in Thorntown, Indiana.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Danny Fisher, officiating.
Interment will follow services at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Lafayette, Indiana.
Myers and Hunt Mortuary of Thorntown has been entrusted with her arrangements.
