After more than two years, the I-65 widening project is wrapping up about 14 months behind schedule. The $99 million project began in April 2022 and was supposed to be done by May 2023. The finish date was eventually pushed back to this summer. INDOT officials say the new third lane opened on July 1 in both directions from the State Road 25 exit to north of the State Road 43 exit.
