Ida Marie “Ike” Vanausdall, 86, passed away Saturday morning, September 25, 2021, at her home in Lebanon.                                        She was born on February 5, 1935, in Lebanon, Indiana a daughter of the late Homer and Helen M. (Barnhart) Watson.
Ike graduated from Dover High School. Following high school she graduated from Nursing School in Indianapolis.
On May 19, 1956, she was married to Raymond E. “Speedy” Vanausdall in Lebanon. He preceded her in death on July 7, 2018.
Ike began her career as a registered nurse working at the VA Hospital. She later worked at Witham Memorial Hospital and then St. Vincent Hospital, where she retired after forty years.
She loved family get togethers. She also enjoyed John Wayne movies, playing cards at Senior Citizens, traveling and wintering in Florida for more than 20 years.
Survivors include her four children: Kerry (Jodi) Vanausdall of Lebanon, Steve (Rhoda) Vanausdall of Lebanon, Patti Vanausdall of Rockford, Michigan, Mike (Mary) Vanausdall of Shawnee, Kansas; fourteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; brother, David (Beverly) Watson of Lebanon; three sisters, Joan (Don) Finnegan of Lafayette, Theda Watson of Lebanon, Juanita (Robert) Campbell of Wanamaker; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Ike was preceded in death by a daughter, Beverly Revell; and three brothers, Leonard Watson, Sr., Leroy Watson, and Eugene “Gene” Watson.
Memorial Services are planned for Thursday, September 30, 2021, at 4:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana.
