Jane Ann Holdeman Dukes, 86, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2024, at Homewood Health Campus in Lebanon, Indiana. Jane was born on February 11, 1938, in Indianapolis to Rex and Mabel Holdeman where she spent her early years before marrying Kenneth Wayne Dukes on June 15, 1957. Together, they raised their family near Colfax.
Jane was a homemaker, and delighted in gardening, sewing, country music, baking and making noodles for the family and church functions. She also enjoyed kayaking, spending time at Racoon Lake, and loved her pet birds.
Jane is preceded in death by her husband, Kenny Dukes; parents, Rex and Mable Holdeman; siblings, Frank Holdeman, Ethel Jean (Polly) Holdeman, and Joann Schall; and oldest son, Kevin Dukes.
Jane is survived by her children, Jeff (Shellie) Dukes of Cape Coral, FL, Larry (Brenda) Dukes of Lebanon, and Pam (Mike) Mover of Carmel; and daughter-in-law, Teresa (Dave) Flint of Lafayette. Jane was a proud grandmother to ten grandchildren Katie Dukes (Cliff Fraser), Rob (Paige) Dukes, Mahlie Dukes, Mitch (Samantha) Dukes, Blake Dukes, AJ Mover, Stephanie Mover, John Mover, Jessica (Sean) Breen, and Jordan (Craig) Simmons and six great grandchildren, Logan, Parker, Mason, Jillian, Max and Cole.
Special gratitude is extended to Debbie Haughton and Chris Dukes-Lasley for their devoted care and support of Jane and Kenny over the years.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 29, 2024, at Myers and Hunt Mortuary, 116 West Plum Street, in Thorntown, Indiana. Graveside Services will follow visitation at the Plainview Cemetery in Colfax, Indiana. In lieu of flowers the family invites you to donate to the Colfax United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 277, Colfax, IN 46035, where Jane and Kenny were members.
