Though two more loose rivnuts have been discovered in an Indiana Department of Transportation inspection, Lebanon City Engineer Kevin Krulik said the bridge remains safe for drivers.
The rivnuts in question hold up one of the orange towers that rise above the curved Lebanon sign on the SR 39 bridge over Interstate 65.
Krulik said the failed rivnuts represent a 0.6 percent failure of the 312 rivnuts that hold the orange towers in place. He said each component could be held up by as few as two rivnuts per panel.
