The 23rd Annual Lebanon Kiwanis Fishing Derby is Saturday,  June 8 at Lebanon Park’s Hot Pond Park, 700 E. Noble Street. Registration begins at 8 am, with fishing between 8:30 and 10:30 am followed by awards and a hot dog lunch.

The free derby is for all kids from 5 to 15 . All children must be accompanied by an adult. Kids do not need a fishing license.

Emphasis is on:
• fishing from the bank
• fishing for family fun
• self-reliance
• nature ethics
• catch & release

Prizes will be awarded for the longest fish and most caught in each age category.

Have an old fishing pole you’d like to pass along? They’re collecting used fishing gear to give to youngsters who attend that don’t have their own equipment!

Bring:
fishing gear, tackle and bait.
Sun protection.
Lawn chairs if needed.

INDIANA License Exemptions
A fishing license and trout/salmon stamp are NOT required for:
• Indiana residents born before April 1, 1943.Such residents should carry their driver’s license or other identification to verify age and residency.
