Mrs. Marian (Frances) Norton, 92, of Lebanon, died Thursday, Jun. 2, 2022, at Grand Brook Memory Care of Zionsville.

Frances was born Mar. 20, 1930, in Darlington, a daughter of the late Frank and Pauline (Long) McDaniel. She married Keith Norton on Jul. 5, 1947, and he preceded her in death July of 2004.

Frances attended Darlington schools. She was a homemaker, and enjoyed working in her flowers, along with spending the winter months in Florida. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.  Favorite activities with Nana were dropping flowers into the creek across from her house and watching them race down the stream, looking for Mr. Toad, and playing endless hours of gin rummy and Yahtzee. Frances was a member of the Ulen Country Club and the Colfax Wesleyan Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Pam (Chris) Shelby of Lebanon; grandchildren, Blake (Amanda) Shelby of Zionsville and Kate (Chris) Engel of Zionsville; great grandchildren, Jack and James Shelby, and Sloane and Charlie Engel; special friend, Red Strawmyer; and many nieces and nephews.

Frances was preceded in death by her son, grandson, four sisters, and four brothers.

Family and friends will gather Saturday, Jun. 18 for visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 10:30 a.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon. Frances will be laid to rest at Darlington Odd Fellows Cemetery.
