Mary Elizabeth Maddox, 80, passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at Homewood Health Campus in Lebanon, Indiana. She was born in Glasgow, Kentucky, on October 11, 1943, a daughter of the late William “Bill” and Laverne (Kinslow) Tyree.

On May 6, 1966, she was married to Jackie Wayne “Jack” Maddox in Frankfort. He preceded her in death on August 18, 2020.

Mary attended Lebanon High School. She was employed as a production clerk at Kaufman Engineering.

Mary was a member of Lebanon Church of Christ. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and spending time with her family. Mary was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her daughter, Kelly J. Maddox of Lebanon; granddaughter, Keli “Nichole” Giles of Lebanon; sisters, Dorothy (Paul) Kincaid of Jamestown and Ruth Ann Tyler of Lebanon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by a sister, Evie Neese and brothers, James (Audrey) Tyree, Wayne Tyree, and Bill Tyree.

Funeral Services are planned for 1:00 p.m., Monday, September 16, 2024, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will follow at Lincoln Memory Gardens in Whitestown.

Memorials may be directed in her memory to the charity of the donor’s choice.
