Mr. Hilman C. Bray, 94, of Lebanon, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2019, at Homewood Health Campus in Lebanon. He was born in Mount Victory, Kentucky, on October 22, 1925, a son of the late Ester T. and Ellen E. (Edwards) Bray.

At a young age, Hilman and his family moved from Kentucky to Lebanon, Indiana, where he attended Pinnell High School. Following school, Hilman served his country proudly in the United States Army during WWII.

On May 9, 1948, he was married to Cleta Faye (Pearcy) Bray in Lebanon; she survives.

A man with a strong work ethic, Hilman began his working career at Martin’s Gas of Lebanon and then went to work in the heating and cooling business for many years. He served as assistant city building inspector until his retirement on his 90th birthday.

Hilman was a member of Concord Baptist Church and attended Lebanon Wesleyan Church for many years. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed fishing, yardwork, and working in his woodshop.

In addition to his parents, Hilman was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Bray and LeRoy Bray; sister, Wanda Riddell; brother-in-law, Roger Russell; and a son-in-law, David Caldwell.

Visitation is planned from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana.
Funeral Services are planned for 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 4, 2019, at the funeral home in Lebanon.
Interment with military rites will follow services at K of P Cemetery in Lizton.
