Mr. Richard “Dick” John Hunter, 94, of Lebanon, passed away Oct. 30, 2019.

Richard was born May 21, 1925 in Colorado Springs, CO, a son of the late John A. and Ruth (Kirby) Hunter. He served in the Army in Germany and Italy during World War II.

Richard married Joanna K. Dinsmore on Aug. 24, 1946. She survives.

Richard retired from Shumates Business Forms after 36 years. He enjoyed working outside, gardening, and doing special projects in his woodshop. He loved having family over.

Survivors include his wife of 73 years, Joanna; his children: John R. (Amy) Hunter of Indianapolis, Ritchie Hunter of Zionsville and Dianna (Jerry) Collier of Lebanon; grandchildren: Steve, Linda, Stacy and Jeff Hunter, Jerry (Jennifer) Collier, III, Daniel (Courtney) Collier, Mallory (Eric Dickerson) Hunter, and John J. (Dominique Isenhower) Hunter; step-granddaughter, Carson Meyer; great grandchildren: Allison Hunter, Julianna Hunter, Austin Cole, Parker Collier, Annabelle Collier, Lylah Collier, Griffin Collier and special family friend, Teresa Hunter. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by a son, Robert S. Hunter; a brother, Robert Hunter and step-grandsons, Max Meyer and Jake Meyer.

Family and friends will gather Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019 for visitation from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon. Richard will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.
