Mrs. Delma Jean Beckham, 94, of Whitestown, passed away Nov. 25, 2019 at the Waters of Lebanon.

Jean was born June 14, 1925, in Ingalls, IN, a daughter of the late Arthur and Agnes (Harmeson) Laws.
She graduated from Pendleton High School and on Nov. 27, 1942, married Leathel Beckham. He died in 2005.

Jean was a welder during WWII and worked in the artillery unit. After the war she was very active in the Whitestown community where she and Leathel owned the skating rink and owned a milk route. She was a longtime member of the Whitestown United Methodist Church; a Charter member of the American Legion Post 410 and a 50 year member of the Eastern Star, Whitestown Chapter 248.

Jean loved to cook, play euchre and spend time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her children, Michael (Theresa) Beckham of Englewood, FL and Debbie (Michael) Dunaway of Mooresville, IN; grandchildren: Denise (Kent) Smeltzer, Scott Pitcher, John Beckham, Michelle (Shane) Beckham, and Ashley Adams; great-grandchildren: Cody Swaniger, Steven Cole, Matthew Smeltzer, Sara Smeltzer, Brayden Beckham, Lacie Putcho, Aaron Pitcher and Brant Pitcher; a brother, Bud (Mary) Laws of Westport, IN and a sister, Joy Johnson of Ingalls, IN. In addition to her parents and husband, Jean was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Dick Johnson.

Family and friends will gather Friday, Nov. 29, 2019, from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon.
