Mrs. Janice Faye Elmore, 76, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, November 24, 2021, from her residence in Lebanon, Indiana. She was born October 15, 1945, in Pulaski County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Harold Wilson Varney and Doris Lucille (Spears) Gaddis.
On August 10, 1963, she was united in marriage to Lewis J. Elmore in Pulaski County, Kentucky; he survives.
Raised in Pulaski County, Janice was a graduate of Eubank High School. She studied music at Campbellsville College and worked as a music teacher in Fayette County, Kentucky.
Janice was a faithful steward of God and a devoted member of the Lebanon Rock Church. Having a servant’s heart, she fostered two boys and helped with women in crisis. Janice enjoyed writing in her spare time.
Survivors include her husband: Lewis Elmore of Lebanon; two foster children, Anthony and Timothy Straine; daughter, Sherry (Matt) Harvan of Sheffield Village, Ohio; two grandchildren, Megan and David Harvan; siblings, Fredia (Leroy) Rice of Lexington, Kentucky, Sharlene Childress of Crab Orchard, Kentucky, Elizabeth Gaddis of Muncie, Charles Gaddis of Muncie, Glen (Suzy) Varney, Phillip (Jacci) Varney, Regina Theilman, Dena (Stuart) Brooks; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by two brothers, William Gaddis and David Gaddis.
Funeral Services are planned for 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 18, 2021, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
Interment will follow services at Dover Cemetery in Dover, Indiana.
