Mr. Myron Lowell Giles, 74, of Campbellsville, KY, passed away Friday, April 28, 2023, at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, surrounded by his family. Myron was born September 19, 1948, in Whitestown, a son of the late Ernest “Gordon” and Betty Jean (Bennington) Giles.
Myron graduated from Lebanon High School with the class of 1967, and went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army. Following an honorable discharge, Myron worked for Yellow Freight for 30 years, first, as a driver and then, as a diesel mechanic.
Myron loved the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed cars and tractors. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and husband.
Survivors include his loving wife of 28 years, Myrtle Roberson; children, Yvonne Woodard, Joe Giles, William “Bill” Giles, Jon Giles, and Myron Lowell “Buddy” Giles, II; brothers, Robert “Bobby” Giles and Ronald “Ronnie” (Nancy) Giles; and grandchildren, Kenny, Austin, Caden, Mason, Owen, Stacey, Sam, Matthew, Trask (Brittney), and Nikki Giles, and Brian Woodard.
In addition to his parents, Myron was preceded in death by his brother, Harold Giles.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 6, at 5 p.m. in the Lebanon American Legion, 1020 Hendricks Drive, Lebanon, IN 46052, with Military Rites to follow at 6 p.m.
Final arrangements have been entrusted to the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon.
