(Arlington, TX)  —  The Cowboys built a 17-0 in the second quarter and cruised to a 38-14 win over the Redskins on “Thursday Night Football” in Arlington.  Alfred Morris rushed for 127 yards and a touchdown against his former team as Dallas evened its record at 6-and-6.  Kirk Cousins was picked off twice and also lost a fumble as Washington fell to 5-and-7.

>>Tiger Shoots Three-Under In Return To Competitive Golf

(Albany – New Providence, Bahamas)  —  Tigers Woods is three shots off the lead after the first round of the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas.  He carded a three-under 69 on Thursday in his return to competitive golf.  Woods is tied for eighth in the 18-man field.  It’s his first tournament since February.  Woods underwent a fourth back surgery in April.

>>Pitino Sues Louisville For Breach Of Contract

(Louisville, KY)  —  Former men’s basketball coach Rick Pitino is suing the University of Louisville for breach of contract.  Pitino is seeking 37.6-million-dollars, saying he was fired with no justified cause.  He was dismissed in October amid an FBI investigation into bribery and fraud in college basketball.  The 65-year-old spent 16 seasons coaching U-of-L.

>>Ole Miss Football To Find Out NCAA Sanctions Today

(Oxford, MS)  —  Ole Miss football will find out today the extent of its NCAA sanctions.  ESPN reports the NCAA committee on infractions will make its ruling this morning.  Ole Miss is facing 15 level-one violations, including a lack of institutional control by former head coach Hugh Freeze.  The NCAA could accept the Rebels’ self-imposed sanctions or add more.

(Undated)  —  It’s championship weekend in college football.  USC plays Stanford tonight for the Pac-12 crown.  Tomorrow’s game include Clemson and Miami in the ACC, Georgia and Auburn in the SEC, and Ohio State and Wisconsin in the Big Ten.  The final College Football Playoff rankings will be released on Sunday, along with the national semifinal matchups.
