(Los Angeles, CA)  —  The future is becoming the now for the 76ers.  Joel Embiid [[ jo-ELL  em-BEED ]] made history in their 115-109 win over the Lakers in LA.  He became the first player in history to record 46 points, 15 rebounds, seven assists and seven blocks.  Ben Simmons just missed a triple-double with 18 points, 10 assists, nine boards and five steals.  Philadelphia swept its LA trip to move to 8-and-6.

>>Warriors Face Celtics

(Boston, MA)  —  The NBA’s two longest winning streaks square off tonight in Boston.  The Warriors face the Celtics in a battle of the best of the Western and Eastern conferences.  Golden State has won seven straight to get to 11-and-3.  Boston has won 13 in-a-row since an 0-and-2 start.  Steph Curry is probable after missing the Warriors’ last game.

(Secaucus, NJ)  —  The Indians’ Corey Kluber [[ KLOO-ber ]] and Nationals’ Max Scherzer [[ SURE-zur ]] are Major League Baseball’s Cy Young Award winners this season.  Kluber claimed his second career American League honor, beating out fellow finalists in Boston’s Chris Sale and the Yankees’ Luis Severino.  Scherzer won in the National League for the second straight year.  It’s his third career Cy Young.

>>UCLA Suspends Three Hoopsters Accused Of China Shoplifting

(Los Angeles, CA)  —  UCLA is suspending the three basketball players who were accused of shoplifting in China.  Head coach Steve Alford says LiAngelo Ball, Jalen Hill and Cody Riley are on indefinite suspension while they go through the university’s disciplinary review process.  They will not travel with the team nor will they suit up for home games.  UCLA beat Central Arkansas in overtime last night.

>>Titans Take On Steelers On “TNF”

(Pittsburgh, PA)  —  “Thursday Night Football” features a battle of division leaders this week as the Tennessee Titans take on the Pittsburgh Steelers at Heinz Field.  Tennessee has won four in-a-row to improve to 6-and-3, tied with Jacksonville atop the AFC South.  It’s the Titans’ best start since 2008.  The Steelers are also riding a four-game winning streak that has them on top of the AFC North at 7-and-2.
