>>Dodgers Take World Series Game One From Astros

(Los Angeles, CA)  —  The Dodgers defeated the Astros 3-1 in Game One of the World Series in Los Angeles.  Clayton Kershaw combined with two relievers on a three-hitter for LA.  Justin Turner’s two-run homer in the sixth snapped a 1-all tie.  Dallas Keuchel [[ KYE-kull ]] took the loss for Houston.  The Dodgers host Game Two of the best-of-seven series tonight.

>>Seahawks Add Freeney

(Seattle, WA)  —  The Seahawks are trying to boost their pass rush.  Seattle signed defensive end Dwight Freeney on Tuesday.  The 37-year-old has been a pass-rush specialist late in his career, spending the last two seasons with the Cardinals and Falcons.  Seattle needs help with Cliff Avril [[ AYE-vrill ]] on injured reserve.

>>Eagles Dealt Injury Blows

(Philadelphia, PA)  —  The Eagles have the best record in the NFL, but the rest of their season just got a little bit tougher.  Philadelphia has lost a starter on offense and defense for the rest of the season.  Left tackle Jason Peters is done with multiple injuries to his right knee, while Hicks suffered a ruptured right Achilles tendon.  The Eagles are 6-and-1.  They host the 0-and-7 49ers on Sunday.

>>Pelicans Davis’ Gets Banged Up

(Portland, OR)  —  Injury-prone Pelicans star Anthony Davis is already a little bit banged up.  Davis played only five minutes in New Orleans’ 103-93 loss to the Trail Blazers in Portland due to a left knee injury.  An MRI was negative, with ESPN reporting Davis is day-to-day.

>>Confusion Surrounds Sixers’ Fultz

(Philadelphia, PA)  —  The situation with 76ers top pick Markelle Fultz continues to be confounding.  Fultz’s agent tells ESPN that the point guard had fluid drained from his right shoulder, but later changed the story to just a cortisone shot.  Fultz, who was a good shooter in college, has struggled with his jumper and has been hesitant to shoot.  Philadelphia is 1-and-3.  The Sixers host the Rockets tonight.
