U.S. Men’s Basketball Bashes Brazil To Advance
(Paris) — Team USA men’s basketball demolished Brazil 122-to-87 to advance to the semifinal round at the Paris Olympics. Devin Booker led the team with 18 points while Anthony Edwards sunk 17 off the bench. Joel Embiid embraced the boos and nailed all three of his three-point attempts to finish with 14 points and seven rebounds. The Stars and Stripes will meet Nikola Jokic and Serbia in the semifinals tomorrow. Meanwhile, the U.S. women’s basketball team faces Nigeria today in the quarterfinals.

(Paris) — The U.S. added two more gold medals in track and field at the Paris Olympics yesterday. Gabby Thomas dominated the women’s 200 meter race to claim the gold, while teammate Brittany Brown won bronze. St. Lucia’s Julien Alfred took silver. Elsewhere, Annette Kneka Echikunwoke won silver in the women’s hammer throw, while Cole Hocker won gold and Yared Nuguse earned bronze in the men’s 1500 meter. Several more medals will be handed out in athletics today including the men’s 400-meter.
