Ramona G. Hoover of Lebanon, Indiana, age 59, was born on July 14, 1963, and gained her Heavenly wings on August 15, 2022. She was the daughter of the late Harold D. and Norma J. (nee French) West. Her cherished stepmother Mary Ramsey-West also precedes her in death. On June 4th, 2005, she was joined in marriage to her wonderful husband Herbert “Matthew” Hoover.

Ramona is survived by her three children, Donnie (Amy) Chupp of Sidney, Ohio, Amanda Chupp and Stacie Hall of Lebanon, Indiana. She was also abundantly blessed with many grandchildren: Nathanael Amos, Preston Chupp, Emma Chupp, Wendie Walters, Skylar Amos, Kyson Walters, and Daniel Torres. Ramona was always looking forward to meeting her grandchildren Abigail Amos, Desi Walters, and Charlotte “Charlie” Hall at the Gates of Glory.

Ramona was the 7th of 8 sisters in the West family. Her sisters Patricia Lee, Evelyn McCall, Joyce (Donnie) Pratt, Betty McCormick, and Lorie Hunt survive her. Her sisters Judith Slavings and Beverly (Shelby) Woosley proceeded her in death as well as brothers-in-law Russell Lee, Carroll Slavings, Edwin McCall, David McCormick, and Jerry Hunt. She is also survived by five stepbrothers: Henry (Gloria) Ramsey, Dennis (Charlotte) Ramsey, Daniel (Deborah) Ramsey, Patrick (Debbie) Ramsey, and Paul (Elizabeth) Ramsey. They all believed they were the geriatrics version of the Brady Bunch. Ramona was loved by many nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Ramona was born a fighter from the very beginning. She never allowed anything to slow her down and didn’t know she had limitations. Ramona lived a lot of life in 59 years and didn’t waste a single day. She was manager at Gas America for many years, assisted with transportation and preschool at her home church/school, and frequently watched after her grandchildren.

For the convenience of family and friends, a celebration of Ramona’s life will be planned at a later time.
