Ransom Lowell Huckstep, 93, of Jamestown passed away January 4, 2022 at home.

Lowell was born January 24, 1928, in North Salem, son of the late Ransom Warder Huckstep and Mable (Warrick) Huckstep. He and Wilma “Corinne” (Jennings) Huckstep celebrated 70 years of marriage in April 2018. She preceded him in death Jul. 21, 2018.

Lowell worked in shipping for Eli Lilly for 32 years, retiring in December 1989. He enjoyed traveling to Florida and out West.  He also enjoyed working crosswords. Lowell was a member of the Jamestown Christian Church.

Survivors include sons, Mark (Tammy) Huckstep of Avon, Bruce (Cyndi) Huckstep of Jamestown and Bryce (Kay) Huckstep of Jamestown; brother, Lyell (Louise) Huckstep of Plainfield, grandchildren, Craig Huckstep of Fishers, Jared Huckstep of Indianapolis, Ben Huckstep of Westfield, Trent Garcia of Tucson, AZ, Rebecca Kimmel of Carmel, Keaton Brayton and Jadaya Huckstep of Jamestown, Tyler Huckstep of Brownsburg, and Matt Huckstep of Lebanon and 11 great-grandchildren

Lowell was preceded in death by two sisters.

Family and friends will gather Thursday, January 6 for visitation from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Jamestown Christian Church, 900 N. Lebanon St., Jamestown.  A funeral service will be held Friday, January 7 at 10 a.m. in the church. Lowell will be laid to rest at IOOF in Jamestown.  Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to Jamestown Christian Church, Property Development, P.O. Box 147, Jamestown, IN 46147.
