Richard Clanton, 79, of New Ross, passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at his home surrounded by family. He was born January 18, 1945, in Indianapolis, a son of the late William and Mary Jane (McKenzie) Clanton.
Richard loved the outdoors and was a hunter, fisherman, and trapper. He loved all of his family and friends and he enjoyed the time he spent at Friendship, IN.
Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Jeannine Clanton; children, Peggy (Eric) Mills and Kelly (Richard) Clayburn; grandchildren, Darin (Brittney) Browning, Derek (Emily) Browning, Trista Wathen, Anthony (Nalicia) Clanton, Corey (Melissa) Gillogly, Tiffany (Arrick) Burke, Anisha (Casey) Joyce, Jesse (Trish) Campbell, Aubrey Duncan, and Cale (Ashley) Clayburn; 22 great grandchildren; and siblings, Madonna Groomer and Harry (Julie) Clanton.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his daughter, Sandy Clanton; son-in-law, Gary Browning; grandson, Travis Clanton; and brother, Billy Clanton.
