The first bells of the Salvation Army “2017 “Kettle Campaign” rang at the recent Football battle between the Western Boone High School Stars and the Lebanon High School Tigers. Western Boone won both the battle on the gridiron and the battle at the “Kettle”. The football score is written history and the Kettle Score ended up WeBo $199.82 and Lebanon $127.50 for a total of $327.32.

The 2017 “Kettle Campaign” will be led by Honorary Bell Captain, Lebanon Fire Department Chief, Charles Batts, in photo above right. Serving as a member of the Advisory Council of The Salvation Army of Boone County, Chief Batts is excited about this opportunity to lead this campaign with a goal of $25,000. Chief Batts says when approaching the various circumstances of his job as Lebanon Fire Chief he always looks forward to the support of the Salvation Army of Boone County. Watch for the Kettle Stands at Kroger’s north door (November 17) and at both doors of Walmart (November 24). Also watch for Counter Kettles at Lebanon IGA, Royal Cleaners, and at Donaldson’s Finer Chocolates.
