The planned closure of the State Rd 28 project begins today Thursday, April 1. The Eastbound lanes of State Rd 28 (Walnut St) from Jackson St to McKinley Ave will be closed. The phase is scheduled to be completed by August 6. The official detour for regional and long-distance traffic follows I-65 to State Road 47, to State Road 39, and back.
Plans are also in place to detour local truck traffic away from downtown Frankfort for the project’s duration. This detour plan has been created to help local truck traffic avoid the road closures on State Road 28 while protecting secondary streets.
