With the recent uptick in good weather, construction crews continue to forge ahead at the Stokes Commons development at 900 S. Meridian St., Lebanon. Located on the site of the former Stokes Elementary School, this housing complex will include the existing building and add others to surround it. When completed, the one-story design will offer one- and two-bedroom units at a cost between $262 and $685 per month. The cost will bring Low-Income Housing Tax Credit senior housing to Boone County. Units will be available for residents at least 55 years of age who also meet income requirements.
Stokes Commons developer, The Englewood Group, said in a release that this would be the first housing of that type in Boone County. The site, which runs south of Green Street and parallel to Meridian and East streets, provided a favorable landscape for the group. More details are available in the Lebanon Reporter.
