Members of the Western Boone football team lead the parade.

Despite a partial rain-out on Sunday, the 2019 Thorntown Festival of the Turning Leaves was a big success, said Festival Coordinator Angela Moody. Moody, who also serves as community relations director for the town, guessed that between 3,000 and 4,000 people turned out for the three-day festival that began Friday afternoon.
Members of the 2018 Western Boone Class 2A state champion football team served as grand marshals of the hour-long parade that wound its way over a three-quarter-mile route from Mill Street, up Pearl Street to Main Street and back south on West Street to Mill Street.
