Mrs. Virginia “Ginny” Bowen, 79, of Thorntown, passed away July 26, 2020, with her family by her side. She was born to Faye and Helen Stephens on Oct. 24, 1940. She graduated in 1958 from Dover High School.
Ginny married James Bowen, who survives, on Feb. 14, 1960. They just celebrated 60 years of marriage.
Ginny worked at Deluxe Check Printers for years. She was a member of the Senior Citizens Club and the Horseshoe Club. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
In addition to her husband, James, Ginny is survived by her children: Teresa (Robert) Burtner of Mechanicsburg, Kim (Kevin) Lough of Thorntown, Bob (Anita) Bowen of Lebanon and Roberta (Tim) Caldwell of Lebanon; grandchildren: Jackie Burtner, Laura Bishop, Nick Lough, Jena Clark, Michelle Hall, Cody Lough, and Brayton Bowen,; great grandchildren: Kayleigh Cave, Keon Burtner, Izak Clark, Kensley Burtner, Landry Iddings, Devin Dickerson, Jackson Hall and his deceased twin, Lilly Lough and Bennett Lough; and a sister, Marge Pearcy of Frankfort. She was preceded in death by her parents; twin brother, Virgil; a sister, Betty Jean; a brother, Fred, and three grandchildren, Robert Burtner, Jr., Crystal Devine, and Matthew Ferch.
Family and friends will gather Friday, July 31, 2020 for visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. with Rev. Rocky Baire officiating in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon. Ginny will be laid to rest at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Thorntown.
