Mrs. Von Dene Boggess, 81, of Lebanon, passed away Friday, August 30, at Homewood Health Campus in Lebanon. She was born December 29, 1942, in Weatherford, OK, a daughter of the late Alvin and Dorothy (Watson) Hamburger. Von married Thomas Edward Boggess on July 20, 1963, in Glendale, CA and he survives.
Von graduated from high school in San Fernando Valley, CA, and had worked as an executive secretary for Blue Cross Blue Shield, and eventually retired from Covance. She loved solving crosswords puzzles, along with reading and going to garage sales. She was a faith member of the Church of God.
Survivors include her loving husband of 61 years, Tom Boggess of Lebanon; sons, Jeffrey (Jana) Boggess of Greencastle, John (Debbie) Boggess of Lebanon, and Thomas Joshua (domestic partner, Nicole Pucillo) Boggess of Lebanon; brother, Allan (Nadia) Hamburger of Cottonwood, AZ; sister, Vickie Smith of Lebanon; grandchildren, Tyler, Michael, Brighton, Bailey, and Barrett; and great grandchildren, Maxwell and Grayson.
Family and friends will gather Saturday, September 7, for visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. with Bob Boggess officiating in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon. Von will be laid to rest at Browns Wonder Cemetery in Lebanon.
