Jobs have outpac ed population in Indiana’s fastest- growing town for the last eight years. So Whitestown and the Central Indiana Regional Transportation Authority launched a commuter transportation service to bring employees from Indianapolis to jobs in Whitestown. The “Whitestown Connector” as it is known, began in 2015 with a three-year federal grant and local match. The passenger van picks up employees at Trader’s Point Indianapolis and brings them to various warehouses and other jobs in the industrial parks. The stop in northwestern Indianapolis is on the IndyGo routes. The riders pay only $1 each way to have reliable transportation. In November, 650 people took advantage of the service.
