The Whitestown Town Council will hold a special meeting at 7 p.m. tonight to conduct a public hearing on passing a food and beverage tax. This meeting will be held virtually, according to Gov. Holcomb’s public health emergency orders. Residents may speak or just observe the meeting live. Nathan Messer, director of operations and economic development, said the 1% tax will be used for economic development, specifically for the upcoming Wrecks Inc. development announced earlier this month which will include a youth sports rec center, apartments, single-family homes and room for an aquatic center.
