If you grew up in Indiana, the closest you might have imagined being to a polo match was having a logo on your shirt. Thanks to Hickory Hall Polo Club’s commitment to supporting local charities, it’s become easy to see a real match in person from the comfort of your own car or lawn chair.
This Friday, June 28, kicks off the polo season with the 16th Annual Boone County Polo Charity fundraiser benefiting Boone County Senior Services, Inc. (BCSSI). Sponsored by The Farmers Bank, Home National Bank, North Salem State Bank and State Bank of Lizton, this event is a great way to experience Polo first hand and support a good cause. The polo team, sponsored by Hoosier Village and Grand Brook Memory Care, is one of only three teams in the state of Indiana.
For just $20 per car, guests are invited to drive right up to the field and tailgate with a picnic dinner (no grills allow) and yard games. The evening will also include a silent auction, wine pull, and halftime activities including a candy drop from an airplane flyover. A D.J. will provide musical entertainment throughout the evening. You may even choose to participate in the Divot Stomp during halftime. The event is also pet friendly, with dogs welcome as long as they are leashed.
Boone County Senior Services, Inc is honored to be one of several charities that Hickory Hall Polo Club supports throughout the year. Drawing spectators of all ages, the annual charity event offers great opportunity to observe this unique sport in a casual and family-friendly environment. On a nice night, attendance can top one thousand visitors, so be sure to arrive early.
