After a few construction delays during the wet spring, the Abner Longley Park splash pad is now open. The free amenity will now be open daily. In remarks made at Friday’s ribbon cutting, Mayor Matt Gentry said Lebanon residents deserve access to great parks. “This is the No. 1 most requested item we had when we made our parks master plan,” Gentry said. “People have been talking about a splash pad for a long time.” The $750,000 water feature has two water cannons, a fish that spits water out of its mouth, fountains in the ground, an aqua-dome that creates an umbrella of sprayed water, a frog that has water coming from its mouth, a spinning wheel mounted way up high, and a dump bucket.
