Andrea Diana Sayles, 77, passed away peacefully at her home in Lebanon, Indiana on Sunday, March 20, 2022. She was born in Indianapolis, on February 24, 1945, a daughter of the late Byron Herbert Witte and Juanita A. (Thomas) Varvel.
A longtime resident of Boone County, Andrea attended Thorntown High School. Andrea had worked for Commercial Filters for 13 years as an assembler and for 23 years she was self-employed/owner of Sayles Aluminum–recycling cans.
In her earlier years she loved to fly in an airplane, fishing, being outdoors and traveling. She was a member of Dover Christian Church and truly enjoyed serving the community through volunteering and helping anyone in need. Andrea was a kind and generous lady who will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include her adopted daughter, Amanda S. Sayles of Texas; brother, Dana (Ellen) Witte of Thorntown; sisters, Sandra Taylor of Ontario, Ohio, Nancy Morris of Lebanon, Indiana; half-sisters, Carla (Russell) Bowman of Lebanon, Indiana, Sharon (Steve) Maple of Pittsboro, Indiana, Cheryl (Marty) McGinley of Fort Myers, Florida; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Andrea was preceded in death by her husband, Richard N. Sayles; son, Thomas F. Sayles; sister, Karen Hughes; stepsister, Betty Ann Varvel; brothers-in-law, Max Taylor and Kenny Hughes; and her beloved dog, Gracie.
Funeral Services are planned for 3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 26, 2022, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services at the funeral home in Lebanon, Indiana. Interment will follow at Sugar Plain Cemetery in Thorntown.
