Barbara Jean (Kakasuleff) Belcher 67, passed away from cancer at her rural Lebanon home, Tuesday morning, August 15, 2023.

She was born on November 9, 1955 to the late Mircho (Mike) Kakasuleff and the late Esther (Wendt) Kakasuleff. She grew up on the family farm near Cicero, IN. She graduated from Hamilton Heights High School in 1974 and then graduated from the Indiana Barber College.

Barbara was the “First Lady Barber of Lebanon”. She was a barber for 49 years cutting hair at Modern Barber Shop, Cut Ups, Doug’s Barber Shop and Contemporary Cuts. She retired in May of 2023.

She was loved and respected by her many clients, family and friends.

She was first married to Mike (Whitie) Campbell, they later divorced. She then married the late Edward (Ed) Belcher, they later divorced. Her last love was her significant other, Howard (Howie) Galvin.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Michaela Rose (Belcher) Overbeck, and by her son-in-law, Trever Joseph Overbeck of Indianapolis. She is also survived by her significant other, Howard (Howie) Galvin of Lebanon; brothers, Kenneth Kakasuleff of Cicero and Gerald (Nancy) Kakasuleff of Cicero; nephews, George (Carly) Kakasuleff, Cicero and Jared (Kristina) Kakasuleff of Cicero; niece, Korine Abernathy of Kokomo; two great nieces and three great nephews.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Jennifer Beherns, Witham Hospital, the Extended Care Unit, Paradigm Hospice (especially Emily and Stephanie), Trinity Lutheran Church, New Brunswick Church of Christ, Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, and many caring family members and friends for taking such loving care of Barbara during her illness and passing.

Family and friends will gather Friday, August 25, 2023 for visitation from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held, Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 10:00 a.m.  with visitation from 9:00 a.m. to the time of service in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon. Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon, IN.
