Bart Kraning has been hired as the new Frankfort Parks Department Superintendent. His first day will be Monday, March 2.

Mayor Chris McBarnes is confident in the abilities of Kraning to take on this position saying, “Bart will be a great addition to the city of Frankfort leadership team. We have several ongoing projects in our parks department, and I feel Bart’s background and management experience will prove to be tremendous assets as we increase our park programming and develop new amenities that will benefit the entire community.”

Kraning, who has recently moved to Frankfort from the Logansport area is eager to take on this role saying, “I am excited to see the growth and revitalization that has been happening in Frankfort, and I’m committed to working with the city to continue promoting and developing Frankfort’s parks and enhancing recreational opportunities in this community.”

Two large projects Kraning will face as he takes on this new role include the opening of Prairie Creek Park in downtown Frankfort and the new T.P.A. Park Aquatic Center. The grand opening of Prairie Creek Park is scheduled for Saturday, May 16, 2020. Construction on the aquatic center is anticipated to start in April 2020.
